TELEVISION DOCUMENTARIES, PBS SPECIALS
Wrote and produced
(1985) AIDS: Understanding the Challenge- America's first documentary
and awareness piece for health and social workers who were dealing with clients
suffering from this disease (originally produced and distributed in Florida,
this 30 minute program was later adopted by the US Military and distributed
to medical personnel on bases throughout the world)
(1985) Breaking the Cycle- A documentary focusing on the origins of child
abuse aimed at raising awareness of prison guards and corrections personnel
(originally produced as a focus piece for national corrections conference,
it eventually won The National Correctional Institute's First Place Award
in New York City)
(1987) Group Homes: It's a Family Matter- A comprehensive, five part
documentary series aimed at making Floridians more aware and accepting of group
homes (targeted videos were shown locally while a general program was aired
on PBS- A survey revealed that public was in favor of group home placements
after viewing and subsequent new group home legislation was passed in the state)
(1990) Who's Accountable? - A 60 minute program featuring American Bar
Association President Sandy D'Alemberte leading a Socratic method discussion
on educational reform among governors, policy makers, educators and parents
(1992) Children of Triumph: Florida's Hope for the Future- A 30 minute
documentary focusing on successful drug prevention efforts in Florida's
schools, featuring Attorney General Janet Reno and other leaders
(1993) Southern Solutions- An hour long program showcasing successful approaches
to math and science and featuring chief school officers, business leaders and
governors from six southern states
(1995) The Bridge- A 30 minute documentary highlighting the successful use
of the arts and humanities in prisons to transform the lives of incarcerated
men and women
(1998) SMARTU- A 30 minute program aimed at middle school students featuring
sports and musical stars discussing the dangers of tobacco use

(1988-1994) Hired by the State of Florida to establish the nation's
first, state-owned teleconference network, SUNSTAR; coordinated more than 36
disparate downlink sites in Florida into a viable network; produced and coordinated
hundreds of hours of live, satellite-delivered programs, in studio as well
as remote uplinks, for national and international clients

(1990) Antigua- A two hour interactive, educational, satellite exchange between
children from Antigua, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina
(1991) Aruba- Three days of five hour feeds of Prime Minister holding press
conferences with Aruban media while attending the Miami Conference on the Caribbean
(1992) Poland- A two hour teleconference linking Polish entrepreneurs from
Gdansk to US and Polish officials in Washington DC and Chambers of Commerce
throughout the US (this was the first ever direct satellite feed from Poland
to the US)
MULTIMEDIA / INTERNET
Created, wrote and produced
(1994) The One Minute Guru- A six part, 50 hour training series on video and
Internet, originally transmitted via satellite as a live program into schools
featuring America's favorite multimedia teacher trainer, Fred D'Ignazio.
The aim was to provide easy, enjoyable lessons on how to use all types of multimedia
and to introduce teachers to the educational applications of the Internet.
More than 3000 teachers signed up for this first of its kind virtual training
and received continuing education points for participating.
(1996) MUD PIE ("Multimedia U Design: It's Easy as PIE")-
The CD ROM continuation of Fred D'Ignazio's zany but highly effective
teacher training, focusing on how to use the Internet and World Wide Web as
educational tools and teaching them how to turn students' research, writing
and publishing into home pages on the World Wide Web.
(1998-2002) Tuesday Teacher Training- An interactive, multimedia professional
development program transmitting a live, hour-long program via satellite and
Internet video streaming to teachers nationwide. The website also provides
follow-up networking through live chat rooms, email, bulletin boards, support
materials, lesson plans, links to other sites, as well as video segments of
the live shows. Teachers sign up and receive continuing education points electronically
(2000-2002) Windows on Learning-A six part interactive, multimedia teacher
training series showcasing effective teaching and learning techniques
(2001) Virtual Me- An interactive multimedia game, aimed at inner city teens
who are at risk of tobacco and drug use, installed in schools, juvenile detention
centers, YMCAs throughout Miami, Dade County Florida
